About Me

I Love Where I Live, Here on the East Coast, Surrounded by Nature and inspired by it every day.

I'm originally from Glace Bay, Cape Breton Island, and now call Antigonish County home on mainland Nova Scotia. CapeScapes was born out of my love of hiking, nature, and landscape photography growing up in Cape Breton, but now encompasses  so much more.

I'm a Sony Alpha enthusiast and a member of the Offbeat Photo Community with a very supportive group of Photographers around the world. (#Wildlycreative). At home I'm learning(slowly) how to do renovations and my partner and I are turning an old cottage into our dream beach house. We share it with two calico cats and our dog Bodhi.

I'm a graduate of the Photography Program at Holland College and a two time recipient of the Stephen Duncan Memorial Award. I've had prints chosen for national competition, and merit awards and been part of group shows at Keir Gallery-Charlottetown, Viewpoint Gallery-Halifax, and The Tall and Small Cafe-Antigonish.In 2003/2004 I mentored students at STFX who had formed a photography club and taught them basic darkroom procedures.

I've become really interested in lightpainting and long exposure photography and i'm always creating my own tools to "paint" with. You might see me sometime at dusk, waving around like some crazy person. Please don't call the authorities ;)

I was once a finalist in a contest sponsored by the European Union and as a result I was able to have One of my Photographs displayed for three weeks at the National Art Gallery Of Canada. The Photograph, of the tall ship "Rose" was later turned into a mural in government offices.

I hope you enjoy my work. Many of the images can be purchased, printed on Fine Art Paper. Please contact me for details.
